This Elf Inspired Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board is a must-do for an Elf movie night!
While we love Will Ferrell as Elf, we weren’t sold on Buddy’s Breakfast — So we swapped the spaghetti for hot chocolate and created a Christmas themed charcuterie board to help you create magical memories together!
When we saw the idea for a hot chocolate charcuterie board we knew we had to make one!! We wanted it to be a little more fun and family-friendly though!
We loved the idea of mixing Buddy the Elf’s favorite foods into our cocoa — so we got busy making one together tonight!
Now, everyone can customize their hot chocolate, and it’s seriously so fun to make this for a party or family movie night as well!
We topped ours with candy canes, whipped cream, and marshmallows, and it tasted like something straight out of Starbucks!
This hot chocolate board was perfect for our Ultimate Elf Movie Trivia Questions and Answers, too!
What You’ll Need:
Buddy the Elf ate:
- candy,
- candy canes,
- candy corns,
- strawberry,
- coconut,
- chocolate,
- and raspberry sauce,
- marshmallows,
- S’Mores Pop-Tarts,
- and syrup
While we left off the syrup, we tried to honor all of his favorite foods otherwise!!
We also added in whipped cream because only a cotton-headed ninny muggins would drink cocoa without it!
(We also had to settle for candy corn pumpkins because we’ll it’s December, but Amazon has candy corn if you really want it!)
How to Assemble Your Buddy the Elf Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board
- You’ll need a charcuterie board to start making your cocoa bar. (You could also use a Christmas plate or even a wooden cutting board if you don’t have a charcuterie board though!)
- Once you have your board, start with your small bowls. I used 3 small bowls and also a Ball jar for the cocoa. You can fill these up with anything you’d like, but I like using small items that would get lost on the board otherwise.
- Once you have your bowls where you want them, place your larger items — like the candy canes or peppermint bark — on the board. These would be like the large marshmallows, Pop-Tarts, and strawberries.
- Finish your hot chocolate charcuterie board with the smaller items. These would be like the Hershey kisses, mini marshmallows and candy corns.
You could also pair this activity with our Elf Candy Cane Forest Cookies for a Christmas movie night!
Additional Ideas to put on your board would be raspberries or raspberry sauce and maple syrup — if only for presentation alone. You could also make a bowl of spaghetti for dinner and have this for dessert.
